We just happened upon these soldiers practicing for Double 10 day.

Oh! I finally noticed「双十節」you said as "double ten day".
BBC says this parade was "for the first time in 16 years" and
"a show of strength apparently aimed at China."

「双十節」(soujuu-setsu in Japanese) is a memorial day of
辛亥革命(shin-ghai-kakumei in Japanese) in 1911, When they
built a their regime of 中華民国(chyuuka-minnkoku in Japanese)。
