Barge in?

Are they desperate for customers, or is it a sale? It still amazes me at how often you find mistakes like this in the middle of Tokyo. Come on people you have studied English for at least 3 years, and I'm sure that you own a dictionary. Or were they just being super clever to get customers into the store?

Glock Pants

I had to snap this picture, they could have been on a gang member in LA, but no on a fairly normal guy in Tokyo. Go figure?

Service

Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised when I got a nice envelope in the mail. The interesting thing about it was tha it had obviously gotten wet somewhere along the line. At first I thought oh this is the rainy season so of course if the mail got wet there really isn't much you can do about it. Then later I realized that the post office had posted a little note on the envelope saying that in essence somewhere along the line your package got went and we did our best to dry it out, but none the less we are very sorry for the condition of your mail when you received it. How nice! Just think if everyone would be so kind in the way they go about work things would be alot nicer.

Wronged By a Thong

What does this say about the state of the news in America?
It is both freightening and funny at the same time. Watch for place when the lawyer touches her leg, maybe next she'll sue him for sexual harrasment

Spiral Flowers

I guess this is what you could call my little attempt at a garden. I have tried to keep at least a few flowers blooming in the patch of ground that the landlord keeps covering over with carpet. I think I have finally won the battle of keeping a little section of the area safe from being covered over, but the rest is continually covered with carpet to keep down the weeds I believe, but they still take root and grow up through the carpet anyway. The interesting thing is that now and then I get some interesting wild flowers that pop up. These little spiral flowers are one example. Don't know what they are called but they have sprung up and are beautiful all be it very small.

Cell flowers

Compare the above with the picture taken on my cell phone.

What were they thinking?

This from: The Yomiuri Shimbun

SAITAMA--A suspected armed robber shot himself in his car at about 11:40 a.m. Tuesday after being surrounded by police for more than eight hours at a parking lot in Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture.

After the man shot himself in the head, police officers broke into the car and arrested the suspect, Ken Kaneko, 55. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but pronounced dead there, the police said.

I heard this on the news last night and just thought, you have got to be kidding! The man is obviously dead, and you are arresting him? Ok maybe I don't understand all the laws of this land but I have know idea what they were thinking when this happened. Obviously your not reading the guy his rights or anything like that. I think it maybe the inability of most Japanese to be able to think and or act on those thoughts "outside of the box". Follow the guidelines no matter how stupid or inappropriate they are. Usually the guidelines do make things run smoothly but at other times you just want to wonder.
