Back to Normal

After the trip to Florida, and Anderson, then back to Japan and traveling with Drew things are pretty much back to normal now. Have been into school for tennis the last two days and from today there are tournaments. The week is somewhat busy I actually just wich I could stay home and sleep the whole week, well that's not going to happen but I have been going to bed early. Depending on how the tournaments go I might actually have time to get away this weekend for an onsen getaway.

Alina was supposed ot be here today, but she missed her plane so she comes in tomorrow. I will be at the tournament so unless I can get away early I won't make it to the airport. Rachelle is going and is going to help her for the first few days.

Well this has not been a real exciting entry but at least it is something.

Travel's with Drew

Have had a good time traveling around Japan with Drew, the first place we visited was Kamakura. We took a 30 min. ride in a rickshaw something I have wanted to do for a long time, but have never done it. Usually they tell you about the history of the area etc. as they guide you around. Our guide Ryo was no different, although because of the route that we took there wasn't that much to talk about but he did give us a historical overview of the area.

I have posted pictures on a special HP just for this trip please visit it at: Drew's Adventures

We have had a good time but we are both tired so today is a day of rest. This afternoon we will go out to Akihabara and check out the character store. I think that we need to save our energy for Disneyland tomorrow.

Back Home

Arrived back home last night around 8:30. Here I am with Drew and Conal at Columbus Airport. There were delays in Detroit dew to the heightened security, they checked all our bags again at the gate on the way into the plane, they were so slow and took so much time that we were an hour late getting off.

Drew is with me this week and I have a few adventures planned starting today with Kamakura. That is when he wakes up, he fell asleep last night on the couch andhas slept the whole night must be nice. Actually I didn't fair too bad but of course I was up around 5:00. At least that gave me some time to get things organized and put away and get aload of laundry in.

We have reservations for the Shinkansen (bullet train) tomorrow in the afternoon, I had hoped that we would get away earlier and we still may but I really don't want to have to go all the way into Tokyo and stand in line for the train. It just means that we will get in late to Hiroshima and may not have time to go to Miyajima. We will see.

I am writting about our adventures on another page check it out.

Voices of America

Listening to this group is one of the best parts of visiting Epcot. This year I only got about 5 minutes of the preformance but it was still good.

Winding Down

Yesterday we had a full day at EPCOT and believe it or not there were hardly any people there it was wonderful. We almost took a segue (sp?) lesson but gave up so we could eat at the Japanese restaurant run by Mitsukoshi.

Hiromi was our chef at the tepanyaki restaurant and she was very annimated. We had a good time, and the Japanese teachers got to eat rice and have a litle taste of home.

The first picture is ver similar to the one at Chalet Suzanne only by coincidence.

Saturday the teachers and I took Jim's family, Tina, and Masa out for breakfast at Chalet Suzannne, a quaint little restaurant here in Lake Wales. Quaint but pricey the bill came to $197.00. It has become a tradition, they have the best Sweedish pancakes and lindenberry jam. Breakfast is the only meal that is reasonable, I think the dinner menu starts from $75. If you are ever in the area I highly recomend it, and if you have your own plane you can fly in on their private airstrip.
